Drain & Septic Treatments

What is BioOne®?

BioOne® is the most advanced microbial drain, septic, and grease trap treatment available. It is comprised of naturally occurring strains of live, vegetative bacterial cultures with an exceptional appetite for organic matter.

Why is BioOne® superior to other microbial drain line and collection system inoculants on the market?

Fast Acting - BioOne® begins working immediately when introduced in a drain line or collection system. These friendly bacterial cultures do not require a wake up period as with other microbial products.

BioOne logo

Ease - BioOne® is easy to use, simply pour and go. No pre-mixing, just use the convenient bottle cap measurer to add the correct amount of treatment to the drain line or collection system.

Value - BioOne® requires only ½ a capful per treatment. Just one half capful has more activity than five capfuls of other bio-products.

Eliminates Emergency Call Backs - BioOne® continues to work long after the service call. The Hungry Bacteria® continue to feed on the organic residue left in the drain line, grease trap, and septic tank long after the technician leaves.

EPA Letter Of Recognition - BioOne® has met the EPA's DfE challenge for biological drain line and septic system products by demonstrating a more positive human health and environmental profile.

BioOne® is a patented microbial drain and septic treatment.

Septic System Maintenance

Septic systems require live bacteria to consume, digest and degrade grease, oil and other organic matter so that proper functioning can be maintained. When a septic system is properly maintained, the connected drain field can also function according to design.

Subjected to bleaches, detergents and other chemicals, naturally occurring bacteria struggle to survive and keep up with the influx of waste in residential and commercial septic systems.

Liquid BioOne® is formulated to work in the harsh conditions of septic systems. BioOne® requires no pH neutralizing and is performance ready.

Backflow Preventers

Professional Plumbing & Design can install new backflow preventers or replace existing ones.

Backflow preventers are usually located at the water meter near the street, and they protect drinking water from cross contamination.

* Please note: We do not repair or certify backflow preventers.

Professional Plumbing & Design offers backflow preventers from top manufacturers like Watts, Wilkins, and Apollo Valves..

Is Your Septic System Functioning Effectively?

It isn't every day that someone asks, "Is your septic system functioning effectively?", but, when your household septic system quits functioning, it becomes a big priority really fast.

Millions of households throughout the United States rely on their own mini-sewage treatment plant -- their septic system. This on-site treatment system, when properly designed, installed, operated and maintained, will treat sewage to protect the family, community and water supply from diseases and contamination for up to 30 years. The average home septic system is pumped every 3 – 5 years.

The best advice for prolonging the life of your home septic system is to conserve water. The more water you put through your septic tank, the more water it must treat and the quicker it is going to stop working. Organize laundry, dish washing and bathing to use your water wisely and efficiently.

Don't pour grease, coffee grounds and similar materials down your kitchen drain. Never pour paints, cleaners, solvents or any caustics down any drain. Some people toss cigarette butts, sanitary products, hair and paper and other solid materials into the commode. This is a serious mistake. Don't use your commode and septic system for a trash can. You will be adding to the sludge build up in the septic tank.

If you have a kitchen sink garbage disposal, you should inspect your septic tank and pump out the solids about twice as often as you normally would. Therefore, try to limit the amount of food waste you put through the disposal. Even without a sink garbage disposal, have your septic system inspected occasionally and the solids pumped out.

There are beneficial bacterial products such as BioOne®, which homeowners (as well as businesses) use to restore and optimize the natural bioaugmentation in our wastewater system. BioOne® does not emulsify or liquefy oil, grease and organics, but literally eliminates it through natural biological digestion.

Also, avoid adding enzymes (emulsifiers), soaps and other advertised "miracle cures" to your septic tank. These emulsifying additives do not reduce the need to pump solids out of your septic tank, and some of these emulsifying additives contain organic chemicals that actually hinder natural bacteria in the septic system, and cause the premature failure of the drain field.

In review, you can prolong the life of your home septic system by:

  • Using BioOne® to restore and optimize natural biological activity!
  • Conserving water!
  • Not installing a garbage disposal!
  • Having your septic tank inspected every few years!
  • Not pouring grease, coffee grounds or miracle cures down your household drain!

Septic System Schematic

Liquid BioOne® is formulated to work in the harsh conditions of septic systems. BioOne® requires no pH neutralizing and is performance ready. BioOne® contains no added enzymes or other emulsifying agents, which only liquefy solid waste. BioOne®'s bacteria eat and digest the solid waste without the unbalanced action of enzymes or surfactants.

The most effective way to maintain a septic system is to inoculate the tank with BioOne® immediately after pumping.

After your septic system has been pumped, your technician will add BioOne® directly into the clean tank.

To properly maintain your septic system between pumping, follow the instructions on the label of the 64 oz. BioOne® bottle your technician has left with you.
